At present in our country, there is no systematic in-depth-research yet, based on point of view of the lifeeycle management, on desulphurization design project management. The front-end investments are mostly emphasized, while the workload and costs of maintenance in later period ignored. In the past two years, under the guidance of the relevant departments of the state, on the basis of the desulphurization electricity price and some related preferential policies, the infrastructure construction, operation, maintenance and daily management of the power plant with desulphurization project, have been transferred to franchise thermal power plants controlled by professional desulphurization companies. The maturing of this act implies the necessity and importance of lifecycle management in desulphurization project design process.Lifecycle management is an important component part of project management, and design phase is the decisive key link to the quality of desulphurization project. Based on the point of view of lifecycle management, the research of the decision problem in design stage, namely considering the needs in different stages and improving in accordance with the design information, can effectively optimize the design quality and also engineering quality. Thereupon it can help reducing the total cost of desulphurization project construction, operation and maintenance. Meanwhile, the popularization and application of both scheme and technology of energy-saving design in desulphurization project have created good conditions for comprehensive coordination and sustainable development of environmental protection.This article carries out an analysis of both the domestic and international application status of lifecycle management methods in desulphurization design project, presents the idea of realizing desulphurization design project with lifecycle management theory, and also lays the foundations of further research on desulphurization design project with lifecycle management theory according to actual project progress as clue. Through the combination of lifecycle management theory and practical engineering process, the management of desulphurization design project improves, so that the problems of engineering management quality can be well solved. In conclusion, it's obvious that lifecycle management has its definite advantages, and gives great importance to clearing thoughts in management.
