The sun offers us an inexhaustible energy resource as its radiators of vast power, and its developing is one of the earliest and widest programmes in the application of solar ovens. At present domestic solar ovens distribute in some places of rich solar energy and use outdoor, for example, in the western rural area, Qinghai, Ningxia, Gansu and so on. The main reason is that high energy loss can be the inevitable consequence during light transmission, and it is structurally difficult to achieve parallel light transmitting in a fixed-point direction as the sun seting and rising. Even applying various tracking system to utilize efficiently solar energy, but lights passing through the borescope or fibre-optic cables are always in the form of complete reflection and energy loss is still severe. For the use of solar energy, most solar ovens converted it into heat energy and then conducted the heat in medium or converted directly into electric energy. Twice direct or indirect energy conversion for using solar energy should be discounted.This paper is based on the principle of concentrator solar ovens, using the form of ellipsoidal mirror focus shifting to realize parallel light output in fixed point, and design a set of corresponding tracking system and mechanical structure. Concentrator solar ovens are also using parallel light irradiating paraboloid to converge in a single point (the focal point), which the solar collection system will shift the focusing lights to another point utilizing ellipsoidal mirror focus shifting principle, and then using a polariscope (a small paraboloid) to diverge as parallel light rays. After parallel light in light pipe transmitting indoor, lens component will focus the lights to heat cookers.In this paper, household concentrator solar ovens need uniaxial tracking system to conduct parallel light into a fixed point. So we first design the whole mechanical structure including the theories introduce and components and parts designing finished every structural size designs of key parts by CAD softwar, for example, the solar oven paraboloid,ellipsoidal mirror, polariscope, light pipe and concentrator devices and so on. Then the design of intelligent tracking system consists of sensors, electrical system and mechanical system. At last based on material selection of every parts, we can rough estimate that the cooker can achieve theory power, on these grounds, and that can make a foundation for the feasibility research of household concentrator solar ovens.This system uses an automatic tracking devices to solve the energy loss problem caused by the sun offset and improves the solar utilization efficiency. The system is simple, low cost and is good for popularizing.Nowadays, with the increasing awareness of energy conservation in environmental protection, the use of the solar cooker indoor has excellent prospects of development.
