First, the paper describes related theoretical knowledge of industrial engineering, gives a brief of findings in layout optimization and work study; Secondly, this article describes the company's production status, including the status of the production line, processing, equipment layout; Third, make a detailed plant layout analysis, research problems, and other factors; Finally, design an improved program for analyzed problems identified for the status quo to, and improvement of production efficiency, quality and reliability, then evaluate the program in security and reliability, the overall economy and so on.In our country, there are just a few industrial engineering research subjects on solar energy water heater manufacturing industry, the innovation of this paper is that for the first time it applied the basic industrial engineering and technology to the manufacturing process of solar water heaters, especially the layout optimization techniques, and has made good results.
