ABSTRACT:As the development of economy and global warming in 21 century, more and more have paid attention to the global climate change and the emissions of greenhouse gases, so people began to restrict all kinds of emissions and trying best to set up a low carbon life. Coal industry, as the main fuel and carbon emissions part, would be the significant part for research on carbon emissions and carbon reduction. On the basic of full analyses of the coal supply chain structure and influencing factors of its carbon emissions system, the paper built a SD model for the assessment of carbon emissions of the coal mining, coal transportation and coal consumption, choosing a coal SC case. After model checking and uncertainty analysis, on the perspective of coal supply chain and SD model, we can assess the carbon emissions of all parts in the chain and the total. Then we tried to change the coal transportation and consumption factors in model to control the carbon emissions, some advice for carbon reduction and control was raised on the basic of contrast of model results. The main results of the paper are as follows:first, the SD model for carbon assessment was accurate to some extent and could used to fully explain the real case and the carbon emissions research. Second, in order to mitigate carbon emissions of the coal SC, it should improve the waterway transport rate and reduce railway transport and the unite energy consumption of railway, also with the energy consumption of waterway and highway. Third, it should improve the combustion rate of converter steelmaking and the use of blast furnace, reduce the energy consumption. Also we can improve the use of converter steelmaking and reduce the energy consumption of blast furnace to mitigate the carbon emissions.
