Enterprise management in the 21st century is increasingly being called the challenges of the environment, accompanying with the issuance of the international standards on corporate social responsibility (SA8000), domestic research on corporate social responsibility is also increasing, and corporate social responsibility has become the focus of attention around the world in the 21st century. Enterprises break the traditional objective "shareholder wealth maximization", standing the strategic level on the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility, and establish performance evaluation index system based on the theory of enterprise stakeholders. The paper includes the following contents:Firstly, the paper will introduce the current situation of the performance evaluation of corporate social responsibility at home and abroad and clarify the history, meaning and contents of corporate social responsibility which laid the foundation for performance evaluation index system.Secondly, the paper will study systematically the theoretical foundation, subject and object of corporate social responsibility. The contents of corporate social responsibility involve a number of disciplines, including management, economics, law, sociology, so the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility is very imperative which can advance corporate long-term development.Thirdly, the paper will analyze the present situation, problems and causes of existing corporate social responsibility performance evaluation.Against these problems, then the text will establish performance evaluation index system of corporate social responsibility based on stakeholder theory with quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. In addition to shareholders, creditors, consumers, governments, communities, managers, employees, the environment, the paper will add the enterprise responsibility for sustainable development and stakeholders' participation in corporate governance.Fourthly, the paper will conduct an empirical study on BaoShan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. using new performance evaluation index system of corporate social responsibility.For those financial performance indicators,we make them dimensionless. But for those indicators unable to obtain the industry standard, we adopt expert scoring method and get an integrated performance score. Lastly we will analyze the weak link of BaoShan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. and explore the actual path to enhance the performance of corporate social responsibility.
