Before the 1950, China was the largest soybean producer and exporter in the world. In recent years, the production of soybean of the major producing countries had grown sharply, and China, at the same time, raised its soybean production slowly. On the other hand, the demand of soybean in China has grown rapidly, which leads to an increasing gap between domestic supply and demand, and China has became a net soybean importer since 1996, and now is the largest importer of soybean in the world. For its importation over half of the world trade quantity of soybean and also more than its own domestic soybean production, the soybean industry and the soybean trade of China haas become an interest focus of Chinese government and the experts and scholars home and abroad. This paper is based on reviewing the previous research of soybean trade, soybean and the trade competitiveness of soybean and other agricultural products, and then puts the attention on studying the world trade pattern of soybean, as well as the status, the international competitiveness and relative affectors of China' soybean trade..The first chapter of introduction mainly reviews the research literature of domestic and foreign scholars about soybean production and trade patterns of the world, particularly the soybean trade and international competitiveness. Most of the literature suggests that the soybean industry of China had lost competitive advantage, soybean industry does not have international competitiveness. However, the actual soybean export quantity of China did not reduce, even trade share of the world soybean market has also increased slightly. Secondly, Through detailed study data, focused on the evolution of soybean trade of China, analyzed the status variation feature of China in the world soybean trade and the status variation of soybean trade in foreign trade of China, we find that the status of China is declining relatively in the world soybean trade, but the status of soybean trade in foreign trade of China especially in Agriculture production trade of China is Significantly increasing. In chapter 3, the paper is based on comprehensively discussing a variety of indicators about international competitiveness, make use of International Market Share,Trade Special Coefficient Revealed Comparative Advantage index of three indicators as well as the data of FAO standard database and the United Nations Trade Organization standard database, comparison and empirical analysis international competitiveness of soybean industry of China, reveals the competitive situation of major soybean products of China in the international market. At the same time, combined with the actual research situation, compositely evaluating differences and effectiveness of various indicators. In chapter 4, the paper references "Diamond Model" which was proposed by Michael E. Porter professor who researched industry international competitiveness, from the production, demand, price mechanism, related industries and government intervention etc, compared and discussed various factors of affecting the soybean competitiveness of China.
