A Research Of Factors That Affect Vietnam’s Maritime Transport Services Trade Competitiveness

Maritime services trade plays an important role in transport services trade in Vietnam. Serious deficit situation, lower international competitiveness has been the biggest problem that Vietnam’s maritime services trade faces. There are too litle researches about the impact of Vietnam’s maritime transport services trade competitiveness factors. This paper will consider current academic factors affecting trade competitiveness of maritime transport services to summarize, through qualitative, quantitative and empirical analysis of the impact of various factors, thus enriching the theoretical analysis on the issue. For Vietnam’s maritime transport services trade competitiveness factors of research helps to analyze what the most important issues facing contemporary Vietnamese maritime trade in services is that it can be targeted to take real measures for trade adjustment measures, structure, effectively improve Vietnam maritime services trade in the international market competitiveness, and promote the development of Vietnam’s maritime trade in services. So the topic of this article has some practical value and significance.This paper uses inductive method to synthesize the literature and theoretical concepts presented seaborne trade in services, competition theory and Vietnam maritime transport services trade competitiveness status quo; when using regression analysis, the paper selected several variables (scale coastal port of foreign trade cargo throughput, shipping trade in services exports, transportation of GDP, trade in goods exports, ocean traffic, the development of maritime trade) Using Eviews 6 software for multivariate regression analysis. This article also uses comparative method to compare Vietnam with other countries in Southeast Asia maritime transport services trade competitiveness. Finally, the model analysis, using diamond models to analyze Vietnam’s maritime transport services trade competitiveness. By throwing special diamond model from demand factors of production factors, especially related support industries and related industries, and corporate strategy to analyze four elements maritime transport services trade competitiveness of Vietnam.
