Fashion advertisement, as an important means of fashion brand communication, has been gaining a lot of attention from the majority of the fashion businesses. Fashion advertising activities are taken by fashion industry to promote their own brands, products, marketing effects, etc. fashion advertisement is a way to communicate fashion information, the purpose is to sell fashion products and make public accept the fashion products. Fashion advertisements are the bridge that connects the fashion producers with the market, and serve as a window to show their brand cultures.British fashion advertising activities have a long history and can provide useful experiences for the fashion advertisement in China. Therefore, in this thesis, I do a research on the basic concepts of fashion advertisement, trace the history of British fashion advertisement, and analyze the four main aspects about Chinese and British fashion advertisement development which are including the media, talents, creativity, and operation process. By comparing the Chinese and British fashion advertisement, indications and experiences are drawn from the development of British advertisement. Furthermore, these indications and experiences can provide aspiration for the Chinese fashion advertisement, and therefore promote the development of Chinese fashion advertisement.
