| Anshan is known as the "capital of steel" in China. The industry of iron and steel dominates, while the third industry has been fast developing as well. Nevertheless, agriculture is a relatively weak component in Anshan's city economics. Since traditional agriculture faces the strong impact of WTO as well as the competition from foreign agricultural products, it is now a transitional period of turning from the traditional agriculture to tourism agriculture.Tourism agriculture is a novel industry that not only combines agriculture, farmers and the ecology of countryside, but also demonstrates great diversity by itself. Different from conventional tourism, it not only satisfies the demand from customers, but also accounts for agricultural development, farmers' income and the everlasting utilization of agricultural resources. During the development of Anshan's tourism agriculture, Yuanyang Ecological Green Park (YEGP) from Ningyuan town has become the forerunner. The advanced development concept and management strategy of YEGP have made it the flag of Anshan's agricultural tourism.Anshan as a city of heavy industry is now in its prime time of developing. Talented individuals from all over the country have accumulated here, which has incurred hot competitions. It is due to such oppressed and crowded environment that people more desire a retreat to the original nature nowadays. This fact, however, serves as a wonderful opportunity for the agricultural tourism in the suburbs of Anshan. The agricultural tourism in Anshan dates back to the late 1990s, and has been fast developing since then. Fruitful economic achievements have been obtained. The present work investigated various ecological enterprises in the suburbs of Anshan from the following aspects:business scale, operating methodology, profits, feature services, management and tourism products. Our survey is based on questionnaire distribution, field investigation, bibliography research and case study. We also cover the consumption structure, tourism seasons, inclination of purchases and satisfaction of tourists. A summary of the characteristics of agricultural tourism in Anshan, its principles of progressing as well as its particular predominance is given.According to our survey, the Engel's Coefficient for Anshan has reached 38.9%. This implies that Anshan has come to a stage of affluence with a sound basis of consumption upgrade. A rigid demand for agricultural tourism is discovered. From the supply point of view, Anshan abounds in tourism resources. For instance, the largest thermal mineral mud field in Asia, the largest inland everglade in east-Liaoning bay area and the world's largest jade Buddha statue, all locate here. Furthermore, what still to be mentioned involve abundant local specialities.Tourism agriculture has been an important form for the development of Anshan's agriculture. It not only extends the development scope of agriculture, but also deeply exploits the special folk culture of the countryside and well demonstrates the value of ecological resources. While enjoying the economical benefits, people in the mean time become highly conscious of ecogolical environment protection. It is in this sense that economical, social and ecological benefits can really be united.Nevertheless, there still exist some severe problems in Anshan's tourism agriculture. For example, the global layouts of farmer gardens and ecological green parks are inappropriate; the services are lacking certain specialty; tourism products are poor in diversity; improper competitions hurt the industry. As a result, many ecological gardens are poor in efficiency and even possess financial deficits. These problems contradict the original purpose of Anshan's tourism agriculture (ATA) and tend to diminish the degrees of satisfactory on tourism agriculture from the consumers. All of these are against the sustainable management and development of ATA.The present work analyzes a particular case of Yuanyang Ecological Green Park (YEGP)--which is the forerunning enterprise in Ningyuan Science and Technology Park. Concerning YEGP (as well as its ""corporation + farmer + base" fabrication style) we carry out a quantitative investigation on its background, current status, management and economic profits. We pursue a way to let the corporations and farmers co-operate and complement each other, in order to improve the sustainable development of ATA. A way is quested to establish a harmonic scenerio of human and nature, animals/plants and animals/plants as well as the unification of animals/plants and environment, the good cycle between matter and energy, and the everlasting sustainable development on resources and environment. Such way should be utilizing the complementation between the limited resources and various animals/plants.The present work investigates the basis and problems of the sustainable development of ATA. Detailed analysis on the hindrances and valuable experiences for ATA is given, which stands from a viewpoint of sustainable development. Based on the comprehensive and systematic judgment, we finish the estimation of ATA from the sustainable supply-need aspect. Corresponding means for development are also proposed. In conclusion, the present work would serve as a reference for further strategy decisions of ATA. |
