In the context of competition's gradual globalization and technological innovation frequency's accelerating, it's difficult for single organization to obtain all the necessary knowledge resources which are used to develop new products. Organizational knowledge gap appears when organization's existing knowledge resources can not meet organization's knowledge needs. How to quickly identify and remedy knowledge gap in organization has become a major problem which organization must to face. The paper study the identification method of organizational knowledge gap based on organizational knowledge structure. Organizational knowledge structure is a reflection of knowledge system of the organization, through which the distribution of organizatonal knowledge resources can be grasped. It contributes to not only measuring organizational knowledge stock, identify knowledge gap of the organization, but also mastering technology developing trends of competitors through their knowledge structures, and thus helping organizaiton make competitive strategy or investment decision-making.Firstly, organizational knowledge structure are defined from macro and micro levels. Its macro definition is based on resource base theory from the perspective of the knowledge resources. Its micro definition is based on system science theory from the perspective of the knowledge element. Then, we put forward a organizational knowledge structure's representation model which use knowledge network to represent organizational knowledge structure, and analyze its aplications for organization. Secondly, the paper studies organizational knowledge structure's construction method and process based on patent documents. Its construction process is as follows:First, patent documents in the organization are collected and pre-processed. Then, knowledge elements in the patent documents are extracted using a algorithm based on term-combined. Synonymous knowledge elements are merged using a Chinese thesaurus—TongYiCi CiLin and pattern matching. After that, relevance between knowledge elements is counted based on co-occurrence, and hierarchical relationships between knowledge elements are built using hierarchical agglomerative clustering algorithm (HAC), and then organizational knowledge structure is formed through visualization. Finally, the paper studys organizational knowledge gap identificaiton and organizational knowledge gap's remedy strategy based on organizational knowledge structure. In the section of organization knowledge gap's identificaiton, after the analysis of knowledge gap, we propose three modes of organizational knowledge gap:containing relational mode, intersection relationship mode, no intersection mode. Then, organizational knowledge gap is identified using tree-based matching algorithm, and the corresponding offset strategy is described. Based on organizaiton knowledge gap and knowledge structure, Organization's potential cooperation relationship is studied by compute the similarity between organizational knowledge gap and other organizations'knowledge structure using the method of tree similarity's calculation. At the last, organizational knowledge structure's contruction method and organizational knowledge gap'identificationan respectively are validated base on an example—an organizaiton in LED field.This study defines the concept of organizaiton knowledge structure, enriches knowledge gap theory, proposes the construction method of organizational knowledge structure and identificaiton and remedy method of organizaitonal knowledge gap, provides theoretical and methodological guidance for the actual construction of organizational knowledge structure, organizational knowledge gap's identification, helps organization discover potential cooperation parterner, promote organizational knowledge innovation and development. |
