Chinese chestnut(Castanea mollissima Blume.) is a famous local product of of China. Bearing the capability of high quality and unique performance of resistance, Chinese chestnut have been enjoyed high reputation all around the world. Along with the development of rural economy, the policy guidance and the stimulation of market demand, the planting acreage of Chinese chestnut increased largely, from 306,700 ha. in 1990 to 1,000,000 ha. at present.The nut output increased from 114,500 tons in 1987 to more than 600,000 tons at present.The Chinese chestnut's ultimate output (Crenata included)is above 60% of the yeild of world and is the non-competitor superior product in the world market.This thesis is in research to the analysis on the strategy and the measure which should be adopted by the sustainable development chestnut industry of China, to provides the basis for the government decision-making.Though the sumed up work experiences of chestnut production and investigation for years,based on the information of the present situation of the global chestnut industry,the developing process of the chestnut industry of China,and the structures of industry and management,we studied and analyzed the present situation of chestnut industry, comparable advantages and the disparities of existence earnestly, brought forward tactics and strategies on the chestnut industry.The main results shown as follow.There are some restrictions still exists in the management of chestnut industry as well as production and market, which are mainly shown as aspects below. The support system of techniques is not sufficient . the intensive cultivation and management is not fully understanded,thus ,which reflected on the low yield, poor quality and low social benefit in the industry.Defferences exists in chestnut industry between the planting varieties and purposes varieties,which is unable to accommodate the future market. Techniques of storage and processing fall behind comparatively,Simple processing technology, Less of processing purpose chestnut varieties. Deficient rules and standards of inspection and quarantine.The market supply exceeds demand. The trade competitive power drops year by year , so, we have much leeway to fetch up the developed country. In order to achieve the strategic target of sustainable development of Chestnut industry , we shoud take the whole benefit of the Chestnut industry as the starting point to carry on the feasible discussion,takingthe sustainable development request as a standard,taking the non-environmental damage cultivation and the Japanese chestnut planting as the new industrial pattern,propose the development strategy, provide in the direction reference for Chestnut industry sustainable development. First, we should attach importance to the development of Chinese chestnut industry , in addition, enhance the level of scientific cultivation management , research to the high yield cultural technique measure of Chestnut. according to the future demand of chinese chestnut market, formulate breeding goal, develop storage and fresh-keeping trade and intensive processing industry.Enhance the added value of chestnut.Further to develop the domestic and foreign markets positively, strengthen Chestnut industry .Establish the effective Chestnut industrial production management system, control.the quality and safety of products.Taking the agricultural sustainable development theory as the instruction, the research in this thesis was conducted by following theories: the cultivation study theory, the ecology theory, the industrial economic theory, the sustainable development theory, the analysis of SWOT strategy and the model study of the strategy form and the competitive advantage theory,To promote the competitive power of Chestnut industry, we should take the market demand as the guidance, take the protection of ecological environment as the foundation, take the science and technology and the system innovation as the power, take the promotion of the ecology benefit and the social efficiency as the goal, through implementing the adjustment of Chestnut industrial structure, strengthening the main enterprises, promoting the industrial production level, conforming the factors of resources, promoting brand well-knownness to promote the competitive power of Chestnut industry, guarantee the advancement of the sustainable development of chestnut industry smoothly.
