From The Utopia Of Light To The Optical Internet

The utopia of light is the metaphor of the idea worid consructed by ontology. Ontology believed everything can be represented by the one .there is nothing outside the one ,the absolute"the other"not existed. From plato ,The original one frequently emerged as the sun. The sun illuminates everything, all things displayed themselves by light. It embodyed the representation mode of thinking in ontology. In metaphor ,we can consider metaphies committed themselves to construct the utopia of light centered around the sun .In this utopia of light ,everything emerged itself as image. Everthing is transparent,thingness vanished。In the utopia of light, thing don't drop shadow.There is no night and only everlasting day exists.In first chapter, I try to analyse the consruction of the utopia of light and its characteristics which essentially the characteristics of ontology. The first one is unity,everything can be represented by the one. The second one is timeless,ontology made an almost effort to get rid of time.In second chapter, I analysed how the utopia of light realized itself by technology and its process. The prosess was divided by the thing clue into four sections. There are the animistic thing. hand-crafted thing, mechanical reproduction thing, digital reproduction thing. In this prosess, thingness is gradually decreasing. The game played between brightness and darkness ended by the victory of brightness , darkness was banished thoroughly. The digital thing weaved by 0 and1 maked the realization of light's tyranny . Cyberword is the field which digital thing surging and surging.In third chapter, I analysed the cyberspace connected by optical fiber, which as the ultimate light meida. Optical internet is the cyberspace which swept over the light.Giving prominence to the light is in order to bring out two characteristics of cyberspace. One is velocity , the velocity of light is most high in universe. Light used as the media embodied the elimination of time in maximum degree. The other is in the perspective of metaphor. light means illumination ,reprensation and the elimination of darkness. In cyberspace ,there are only digital images and absolute the other which can't be reprensented will not emerge . The sun made up of 1 and 0 illuminates every corner in cyberspace. In other words , the optical internet is the ultimate realization of the utopia of light . which is equal to the ultimate realiztion of ontology. The elimination of time in ontology correspond to the transendence of time by light in optical internet. Man was exiled in the momentary experience,original time no longer emerged . The representation mode of thinking in ontology correspond to the virtuality of optical internet,everything is virtual– reality. The elimination of time and the other which ontology dreamed of realized in virtual world.The utopia of light in metophorical sence become a reality through the light media in phsical sence. Everthing in internet is light weave in any rate of frequency running through the optical fiber. The utopia of light ultimately realized itself in optical internet. Everything is light. we enter into the daytime of technical era which Heidegger mentioned.In forth chapter, I analysed the subject .Does the realization of the utopia of light bring out the freedom and liberation of subject in maxium degree which ontologists imaged. In one hand, the subject in Cyberspace realized ontological subject's characteristics: the first one is bodyless,roaming in net is spiritual projection , the second one is timeless. subject soaked himself in momentary experience. the last one is otherless, encouter with the other in cyberspace is impossible. In the other hand , the subject in cyberspace didn't lead to the freedom which ontological subject possess. On the contray ,the subject in cyberspace was holded in bondage and led to disapper.In the last chapter, I analyse how to walk out the utopia of light , namely how to redeem the subject ,how to let the fragmental subject retrieve itself and relocate itself in original time .Only in the relationship of the other can the original time emerge, the other include not only the other man but also the other thing. The essence of the other is infinity. This chapter find the two ways to redeem the fragmental subject in cyberspace .One way is ethnics facing to the other man ,the other way is aesthetics facing to other thing. Only in the illumination of the ethnics and aesthetics can individual listen to the other's voice and the call of infinity . Only by it can we walk out predicament of Holism and escape from the destiny of disapperence.
