Study On Contemporary American Minimum Wage System And The Implication For China

The minimum wage system is a vital social security, and it is a necessary method for the government to intervene the labor market, which plays an important role in protecting the workers to gain the reasonable payments. The US is a typical marketing developed country and economic research position. After many year's development and reform, the minimum wage system and its legislation are more representatived in the fundamental research and real economy development condition. Since 1993, China has been implemented the minimum wage system by learning the experience of the international conventional practice. From the beginning of practice, many scholars have been warmly discussing the necessity of existing and the efficiency of implementation of the minimum page system. However, the effect of implementing the minimum wage system in our country is not fully satisfactory. Therefore, it is helpful to promote the harmonious development of society by learning the experience of US, analyzing the efficiency of the minimum wage system implementation to improve the minimum wage system policy of our country at the present stage.This thesis analyses the relationship with minimum wage system and economic variables, such as employment and impoverishment and inflation, which guided by the theoretical basis of the theory of classical economic school of thought minimum wage theory, the Marx minimum wage theory, the efficiency wages theory, as well as the study of the implementation of China and US's minimum wage system. Facing the situation of the practice of the minimum wage system of our country at present stage, it puts up forward the policy advices by the methods of establishing the minimum wage standard reasonably, improving legislative construction of minimum wage, and confirming responsibility of execution main body in minimum wage system.Implementation is indispensable for the minimum wage system in many countries. Besides by using the flexibility of the policy system itself to reduce its negative effects, we need to propose solutions of the problems in all aspects in the running process. It is helpful to protect the workers rights by implementing minimum wage system policy, which expresses the spirit of the concern on humanities by the government and shows the national responsibility and social progress.
