With the rapid development of social economy,urbanization and industrialization, the building continued to increase the number of occupied land. Also affected by ecological and agricultural structure adjustment and all kinds of natural disasters, the influence of trend in cultivated land area in short time to reverse. However, the population growth and improving the quality of people's lives to produce the demand increasing food production, self-produced food supply and demand of the great contradictions of our country's food security problems even more severe. In this context, strict protection of cultivated land, while tapping the potential use of farmland to go focus on content, take the intensive, become to solve the contradiction between man and food security and the inevitable choice.This paper firstly develop cultivated land intensive use the background and significance of the background gives a brief introduction, the review related to intensive land use at home and abroad on the basis of research to determine the technical line of this article, the article structure, and possible innovations; then discussed the land Intensive use of evaluation concepts and theoretical basis;and select the DPSIR Model intensive use of land evaluation system measured by the improved TOPSIS model for land use intensity; Finally, take an example of the suburb of Wuhan city for the evaluation of intensive land use.The results show that the cultivated land intensive use time in Wuhan city in an upward trend in the space with the city centre distance from the increasing while descending, made on this basis to promote intensive use of arable land in Wuhan Suggestions, concluded the article main conclusions of the shortcomings and prospects.Currently, the number of the cultivated land intensive use for the big city is little, so there is some exploration of this article, but in the process of empirical research,due to restrictions in the data collection, the future research of index system remains to be further perfected.
