Wetland is a kind of land types which could provide with special features formed by the interaction between land and water. It is the great important land and natural resource. Wetland has many ecological functions, such as:hydrological adjustment, climate regulation, and water purification and so on. It is known as one of the ecosystems with the largest ecological service value on the planet. Studying on the ecological functions and value of wetland will provide some evidence for scientific development and utilization of wetland resource. It's the important foundation for wetland protection, restoration and sustainable utilization.Zhangdu Lake wetland area located in the southwest of Xinzhou District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province; it is an important ecologically sensitive area in the lower Yangtze region. In January 2009, the area was upgraded to a provincial wetland nature reserve. Zhangdu Lake wetland is known as the "back garden of Wuhan", with humid climate, sufficient sunlight, rainfall, lakes interspersed, fir forested, it is exactly a good place for leisure travel. However, due to the development of agricultural and fishing economy in recent years blindly, and reckless reclamation, heavy use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, the lake's ecological environment is getting worse and its ecological functions are experiencing a significant degradation, the wetland ecosystems is urgently needed to save.In this paper, based on a large amount of literature and report data, and multiple field investigations in Zhangdu Lake wetland area, I got a preliminary understanding of historical evolution of Zhangdu Lake wetland, acquired its current use and conservation status, and give a detailed description in the third chapter. In the fourth chapter, by further analysis of Zhangdu Lake wetland ecosystem functions and combining the Delphi method and AHP method, I draw up the core wetland ecosystem services of the current lake, including:material production function (0.3011), biological habitat functions (0.2174), and flood storage functions (0.1985). Their weight values sum up to 0.7170. In the fifth chapter, wetland values will be divided into direct use value, indirect use value and non-use value, I adopt the direct value method, shadow project method, valuation method and other methods to measure the magnitude value of different types of ecosystem services. The result shows that the total value of Zhangdu Lake wetland area is 6,897,688,000 yuan, the largest part of which is the non-use value, up to 2,958,335,000 yuan, the following is the indirect use value, as 2,038,154,000 yuan, these two values set to 72.44% of the total value; The direct use value is the minimum, and the material production value only account for 24.45% of the total value. The result fully illustrated that the wetland's ecological and environmental value is far beyond its material and economic value. In ChapterⅥ, I summarize the basic conclusions, and bring forward some ideas and measures combined with the results for sustainable use of Zhangdu Lake wetland area, while described the shortcomings of the paper.
