Servo turret can be used for reliable clamping and automatic switching of cutting tool, which is one key component of NC lathes and turn-milling center to provide the solution of integrating turning, milling, drilling, tapping and other multiple function on one machine. With the high-speed, high-precision and modularity development of NC turret technology, research and development of servo turret with high indexing accuracy, high movement and positioning accuracy, high-speed driven tooling become imminent. However, there is still a large gap in design and manufacturing technical level between China and foreign countries, which has already been a bottleneck restricting high-performance CNC machine tools nationalization in China. This paper is on the basis of "high-grade CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment" scientific major projects (2009ZX04011-052), facing the domestic demand of high-grade CNC machine servo driven turret, taking SFY3212nh module type driven turrets as research subjects, aiming at solve the design and performance testing problem of high performance servo driven turrets, key technologies of module type driven turrets are studied.Due to the serialized and industrialized requirements of module type driven turrets production, combination relations among modules of turret is analyzed, modular structure of module type driven turrets is put forward and core module is designed including:body module of module type driven turrets with three stage gear transmission and Hector three gear discs locking, drive module with multi-stage pinions transmission and hydraulic clutch, Y axis module with a hydraulic clamping device, adjusting module of direct driven tool holder with planetary gear transmission and rectangular driven tool holder with bevel gear transmission, etc.In order to make quantitative judgment of turret dynamic module transmission capacity, taking working condition, structure, material characteristics and stress state of turrets into consideration. Strength check method of module type driven turret structure is studied. The design and strength check model of core dynamic transmission structures such as turret gear and Hector three gear discs are built. The dynamic transmission structure of SFY3212nh module type driven turret is designed in detail. The stress and modal in gear dynamic transmission are calculated basing on FEM. For static and dynamic characteristics and reliability testing requirements of module type driven turret, the experimental scheme of multi-modeling and load test of the module type driven turret and its drive module is designed; timing planning and signal processing of multi-testing work stations switching are researched; the detecting platform for the tests of various models of module type driven turrets is developed. Meanwhile, reliability tests of the clutch mechanism for the servo turret drive module and numerical control device are conducted.The geometric precision and load capacity of the designed SFY3212nh module type driven turret are tested on the developed detecting platform. The turret is going to be applied of HTC80150CNC turning centers.The research results provide critical technical supports for the development of high-performance servo driven turret and also make positive contribution for the nationalized manufacturing of the servo driven turret.
