| Cheongsam is a typical example of Chinese traditional costume, and its adoption of fabric, designs of styles and colors as well as the options of patterns not only reflect the productivity development status and the developmental levels of the historical periods, they are also closely associated with the social aesthetic consciousness, political situations, ethnic flavor and cultural spirit of that time. Modern Cheongsams not only inherit the classical culture of Chinese traditional costumes, but also combine the modern aesthetic characteristics and inject the fashionable design elements, thus making Cheongsams manifest the aesthetic characteristics of fashion culture. Through the analysis of the aesthetic characteristics of materials and spirits of Cheongsams, this paper summarized the fashion culture’s aesthetic requirements on Cheongsams, namely paying equal attention to fashion culture and traditional culture.Through and summary and analysis of the concepts, characteristics and aesthetic characteristics of fashion culture and Cheongsams, the Paper integrated the manifesting patterns, manifesting form of the fashion culture and the aesthetic characteristics of Cheongsams; meanwhile, on the basis of relevant analysis, it elaborated the ideas on the relationship between the fashion culture and the traditional culture; in combination with the on-site survey of the cheongsam market, it grasped the current status of the market development of Cheongsams. Then, through the questionnaire contents by conducting interviews and surveys, it established the influences of modern fashion culture on the females as well as the changes in their life styles, consumption attitudes and cultural concepts. Finally, it derived the aesthetic characteristics of modern Cheongsams and fashion culture’s aesthetic requirements of modern Cheongsams so as to design the Cheongsams that conform to the needs of modern females, which is the keynote of this Paper’s research. |
