Aluminum dross is a slag that formed on the surface of molten Al during smelting proeessing.The number of aluminum dross generated each year is considerable and domestic.Foreign researchers committed to the aluminum dross recycling, and have made great achievements in the utilization of aluminum dross. The experimental study of this article hope to add the aluminum dross back to the electrolyzer and make production applications come true. Realize the target that recycle Al in aluminum plant, and reduce production cost of factory.In we researched the roasting properties of aluminum dross, and reviewed the variation in content and occurrence of chemical reactions of main object contained in dross in the process of roasting at high temperature. This paper concludes main objec t’s response behavior in the process of roasting at high temperature.AlN is an important part of the aluminum dross. Through experimental studies,we found that AlN is the main factors that hinder the aluminum ash adding back to the electrolyzer. In this article, AlN in dross is dealed with by pyrometallurgical processing.1、AlN can change to Al2O3by roasting. With the increase of the roasting time, content of AlN is gradually reduced and the content of alumina increases. The higher the temperature,the deeper degree of AIN’s conversion. The roasting product sintered. The roasting in the first hour has deeper degree of reaction than that in the follow hours.2-. Roasted with NaF or cryolite, AlN in aluminum dross can convert to Al2O3more easily. The cryolite is better.3^Stirring the materials in the roasting process to increase the degree of contact with air, can promote the conversion of AlN in aluminum dross.The effect increase by20%to30%.4、In the case that fluoride participates the roasting process,influence of sintering is small, and degree of material response is still very deep.5、When the content of cryolite is about10%, the improvement of the properties of aluminum dross has been pretty clear. High cryolite content is not conducive to the conversion of AlN, and the materials is easy to sintering.
