Coke oven gas is the main by-product of coking production, and it’s a valuable chemical feedstock gas and raw material. The coke oven gas contains much gas components such as H2, CH4, CO, CO2and so on. The process using the coke oven gas to synthesizing methanol is mature and industrialized, but there are still some aspects needed to be improved. This paper researches technical innovation about the coke oven gas for methanol production of Zhongrun company.The fine desulfurization process was ameliorated and the first hydrogenation was changed in the case of no stop produce. The produce running for a long period was achieved, and the hrdrogention catalyst consumption was decreased. The liquid oxygen vaporization device was reformed to increase the oxygen quantity from the air separation workshop section, which could resolved the problem that the low CH4conversion rate caused by the oxygen insufficient of air-separation workshop section in the process of the coke oven gas for methanol production. The CH4conversion was promoted and increasing methanol production by ablout10ton per day. The method that supplementing vaporizing liquid carbon dioxide into methanol synthesis system was provided to increase carbon content in syngas. The methanol yield can be improved by supplementing vaporizing liquid carbon dioxide into methanol synthesis systemThe process and device of coke oven gas for methanol production was ameliorated through these technical transformations, and the methanol yield was further incaerse.
