The dual gradient drilling technology offers targeted solutions, to solve the problem ofthe drilling fluid density margin, which is smaller between the formation pressure andfracture pressure during the offshore drilling process; the subsea mudlift drilling technologyis one of the branches of dual gradient drilling technology, it is safe and economic.As the key aspect of the Subsea mud lift drilling technology, it is very important todesign the control system. This paper presents the design of the control scheme of the mudlift pump of the seabed mud lift drilling system. According to the working principle of dualgradient drilling, combination of subsea mudlift drilling test platform (SMD platform), usingNI CompactRIO real-time control module as the controller, writing control program usingLabVIEW software, designing the interface circuit, it achieves the detection and control ofthe inlet pressure of the seabed mud lift pump.The paper describes the technical principles of dual gradient drilling, studies principleand structure of the subsea mudlift drilling technology. The PID control and the fuzzy controlbased on neural network algorithm were simulated on Matlab software.In this paper, PCI8932data acquisition card gets the signal and output the data, and theinverter completes the frequency control of the three-phase asynchronous motor, the validityof the designed control algorithm based on LabVIEW language was verified, which laid asolid foundation for applying the C-RIO controller.Considering the characteristic of the controlled object, this paper selects the C-RIOreal-time control module as the controller and completes the configuration of the peripheralequipments and circuits. It utilizes LabVIEW to write the program and designs the controlscheme for seabed mud lift pump based on the C-RIO controller, which is applied to thesubsea mudlift drilling test platform and achieves the effective control of the seabed mud liftpump.
