With the rapid development of virtual reality (VR) technology and Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, digital mine construction which has been the main part of information construction of mine. The three-dimensional mining system provides a visual platform for digital mine construction, which promotes to realize the scientific, reasonable and high efficiency new situation of mine production.The modeling and three-dimensional visualization of the mine industrial square and roadway can provide a visualization platform for mine. It is for the users to be personally on the scene, to feel the environment of mine, which can more quickly understand the overall layout of the mine. It can also virtually plan, design the mine. This paper first establishes point element model, line element model and planar element model by using the three-dimensional modeling software of3DS MAX, and then integrate and optimize them, for achieving virtual three-dimensional mine industrial square. Based on MultiPatch element type of ArcGIS, this paper researches the algorithm of three-dimensional modeling of roadway to realize three-dimensional visualization of roadway and opens a new route for the modeling of roadway of mine. Finally, the paper designs the platform of three-dimensional visualization system of mine and realizes all modules in the total design of system. Main development tools for system of three-dimensional visualization of mine are C#and ArcGIS Engine. Needless to say, the three-dimensional visualization of mine more vividly displays the whole picture of the mine. It also provides the platform of overall planning and construction of mine and lets persons understand mine intuitively through the system. It is advantageous to the sustainable development of mine.
