Biomass and productivity are two indispensible parameters in ecological environmental impact assessment (EEIA). Therefore, selecting suitable measurements for biomass and productivity pose a great importance in EEIA. At the moment, the calculation methods for both biomass and productivity are derived from ecology discipline, and there is scarcely any instruction from literature about how these calculation methods can be utilized in EEIA. This thesis aims to study the calculation methods suitable for northeastern China, and verify their practicality.Analysis of present status of ecological environment system and common methods for impact assessment are presented in this article. Comparisons between methods were made to conclude the best one that is suitable for the climate and geographical traits in northeastern China. Given the complexity and divergence in EEIA, diverse methods can be employed in specific situation. The assessment of stability and integrity of eco-system can be revealed by the variation of biomass and productivity index. Comparisons and analysis of present biomass calculation methods were conducted in the research to get the most desirable conversion model between biomass and stock volume which can be used in EEIA in northeastern China. To calculate productivity, deduction of function between biomass and productivity are discussed in this article, substantiated by regional climate and precipitation model which is in high resolution.Examples from Huananmajia region and Qitaiheluoquanfeng power plant were studied in this article. Stock volume of different tree species were found in achieves, and it was used to calculate the biomass to further acquire the theoretical average productivity. Local climate and precipitation were considered in this process. The comparison between before and after the construction illustrates the construction has little influence on regional ecological system in terms of biomass and productivity. The variation of landscape dominance illustrates the construction has limited effect on regional landscape integrity. The variation of biomass and biodiversity before and after the construction illustrates the regional eco-system is stable. This article provides significant and meaningful evidence of quantification of biomass and productivity, by combining the selected calculation methods of stock volume/production and EEIA projects in northeastern China.
