Laser cutting technology has many advantages, and widely used in the aerospace, shipbuilding, automobile manufacturing, power generation equipment manufacturing, mining machinery, engineering machinery, electronic and electrical engineering and other fields of national economy pillar industry. Because laser cutting technology is developed to high-speed, high efficiency, precision and automation, so the requirement of the machining performance is more and more high. In order to ensure the machines operated in high speed, high efficiency and high quality, we must make the structure have a good dynamic characteristic. Due to the dynamic characteristics of machine tool’s structure on its working performance, efficiency, stability and reliability, so, improving the dynamic characteristic of machine tool’s structure has become one of the modern machine tool research topic.This paper introduced the characteristics and working principle of laser cutting machine, summarized the domestic and foreign research dynamic of laser cutting technology,also analyzed the current situation of laser cutting machine mechanical structure. Through the finite element analysis combined with experimental verification method to analysis the dynamic characteristic of the laser cutting machine, and improved the structure.Summarized as the following:First of all, the model for YAG-2513laser cutting machine was established with the SolidWorks software,then,the static contact analysis made in ANSYS, the equivalent stress values range from0.2to10MPa, conform to the requirements of the strength, there is a big space for optimization.Secondly, modal analysis was made for the two working condition of the laser cutting machine. Seeing from the whole natural frequency and modal vibration mode, the X, Y screw and beams in each order modal almost appeared different degree of deformation and distortion, which affected the machining accuracy and stability of the laser cutting machine. So can accurately identify the lead screw and beam’s state parameters of vibration mode,what was great significance on improvement and optimization of laser cutting machine. Third, the dynamic performance test experiment was made for YAG-2513laser cutting machine. The results was close to the finite element analysis results, which verify the simplified for finite element model better reflect the actual mechanical structure.Fourth, finite element analysis was carried out on the key components of the machine tool lathe bed, found out the relatively weak link, then put forward improvement method.Lathe bed height and middle support angle were analyzed, got the influence degree of the two parameters for the dynamic characteristics of the machine tool lathe bed. Structure’s improvement, and modal analysis were took out. Compared with analysis results before, improvement index all increased, then improved the service life and made the machine more conform to the requirements of the production.
