The continuous development of modern economy forcing faster transformationoftraditional industries.Iron and steel industry needs to change extensive productionfrom the original to intensive production. The original steel companies have torelocateto the new plant. The re-use of the old factory need to take the environment pollutioninto account in case that it has a bad effect with people’s health.Air pollution within thesite is a kind of important pollution.This paper considers Shougang old industrial area as a study case.Some tests areperformed from July1st to July30th in2013and from February11st to March10th in2014.The tests continue from4:00to21:00everyday.7points are choosed to monitor airpollution.Monitoring indicators are choosed tobeSO2,NO2,PM10and PM2.5,combinedwith the region’s main plant emissions of gaseous pollutants.The pollutant concentrationdata has different laws between the transition season and summer.The four kinds ofpollutant concentrations will reach the peak concentration from9:00to12:00every dayin summer.They have lower concentration values during the rest of the day.SO2andNO2concentration will reach the peak at around9:00am and in the evening intransition season.The concentration of PM10and PM2.5has a slowly rising trend frommorning to night in transition season.In order to understand the overall air quality of Shougang old industrial areas, thearticle selects fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to assess the air quality of the7measuring points and their mean value in this region.Fuzzy comprehensive evaluationresults show that the overall air quality in summer gets gradeⅡ.The fuzzy membershipof SO2, NO2, PM10and PM2.5are26%,75%,44%and95%.The overall air qualityin thetransition season has also reachedgradeⅡ.The fuzzy membership of SO2, NO2, PM10and PM2.5are22%,32.5%,77%and45%.After comprehensive understanding of the air contamination, the author of thearticle analyzed the possible factors that may affect each air pollutantby multivariateanalysis of variance.The results show that the atmospheric background value of SO2and wind speed affects the SO2concentration in this area in transition season.Theatmospheric background value of NO2and PM10affects the NO2and PM10concentration separately in this area in transition season.The results didn’t find any factorscorresponding with the PM2.5concentration in this area. Finally, the regression modelsof SO2and NO2are built by regression analysis meathod.
