Environmental justice, which is a major practical problem facing the world, is alsoa frontier problem of environmental ethics. China has made great progress ineconomic and people’s life has been greatly improved. However, with the rapiddevelopment of economy, the issues of environmental justice in contemporary Chinaare also increasingly prominent. They have become the important factors to restrictthe development of our society and the comprehensive construction of our country.Our attempts to explore the connotation of environmental justice and our efforts toseek the answers to the major problems of environmental justice in contemporaryChina provide a reference for us to construct harmonious society.The environmental justice should be defined as fairness and justice that we canfeel when we deal with environment issues. Although people all over the world aredifferent in nationality, race, color, status, and occupation, the the rights andobligations about environment are equal. It should get attention and protection fromlegislation and law.At present, the environmental justice issues in contemporary China are mainly asfollows: the environmental justice issues between the East and the west, the urbanand rural areas and the rich and the poor.It is not only theoretical but also practical.This paper seeks the solutions suitable for the situation of environmental justicein china from resource, politics, economy, culture and practical situation.We think itis good to solve the problems such as developing circular economy, makingpolicies,laws and regulations of environmental justice and safeguarding themechanism and strengthening the propaganda of environmental justice. We believethat, with the environmental justice issues in contemporary China resolved, we willhave a better vision for building a harmonious society.
