Algae crust play a significant role in the prevention and control of soil erosion、wind prevention and sand fixation、change of the sand surface physical and chemical properties 、 adjust soil moisture distribution and accelerating nutrient soil improvement. With the aggravation of desertification, the means of combating desertification is much accounted of the academic interests, especially the technology of artificial algae biological crust. It can be used in practice by the principle of algae physiological ecology and the theory of biological crust. And the effect is well.Microcoleus vaginatus Gom and Scytonema javanicum(Kütz.) Born et Flah is material in this experiment. We study the growth status of mixed algae to explore the effects of different inoculum concentration, soil moisture and compositions of M.vaginatus and S. javanicum on the algal biomass by the implantation of artificial algal crust. We found that: The algal biomass of mixed algae increased with the increase of the inoculum concentration and soil moisture. In addition, obvious increase in algal biomass was observed in desert algae crust under a certain proportion of S. javanicum than unmixed M. vaginatus. All in all, the results showed that the optimal ecological conditions for the formation of algae crust are as follows: the percent composition of two dominant alga of 8:2(M. vaginatus: S. javanicum), the soil moisture content of10% and the Chla inoculum size of 10μg·cm-2. On the basis of single factor experiment, optimal plan of the orthogonal design is A2B3C2,that is the Chla inoculum size of 10μg·cm-2(A), the soil moisture content of 12.5%(B) and the percent composition of two dominant alga of 8:2(C).Mixed algae is inoculated on desert zone in situ testing that is vast propagated in laboratory. We examined the each development stage of the crusts to explore the optimization condition of different inoculum concentration, the watering content and BG11 nutrient solution. We found that: Our study to obtain the feasibility technology scheme is the initial inoculum of 20μg·cm-2, the watering content of 1000 m L·m-2, the BG11 nutrient solution amount of 1500 m L·m-2.We had some comparison with single algae and mixed algae in the wild. We found that: both single algae and mixed algae. The algal biomass of algae crust increased with the increase of the inoculum concentration the watering content and BG11 nutrient solution. The inoculum concentration treatment group of 10μg·cm-2 and20μg·cm-2of mixed algae are better than the single algae. The watering content of1000 m L·m-2,1500 m L·m-2 and 2000 m L·m-2 of mixed algae are better(p=0.0126). TheBG11 nutrient solution of 1500 m L·m-2and 1000 m L·m-2of mixed algae are better than single algae(p=0.0871).All in all, Mixed algae can better and faster to adapt to the environment of the desert region.
