A 280 individuals group of the Sichuan snub-nosed monkey(Rhinopithecus roxellana) at baihe(33°14′N,104°08′E) of Baihe Nature reserve in Sichuan was chosen to study mainly on home range use, diet chiose, from March 2014 to April 2015 by invesgating its habitat conditions use active location. The study found that Baihe Sichuan golden monkey xiapingdi group home range domain size is 22.13 km2. The home range domain size is accord to obvious differences in different season. Summer(June to August) home domain, the largest is 10.25 km2,Autumn(September to November) home domain minimum, only 6 km2. Preliminary analysis, the difference is mainly caused by seasonal variation is especially food. Xiapingdi group is especially to the use of various regional home field intensity is not same, especially prefer concentrated using the home field of certain foods rich areas. The monkeys most time stayed the forest belt between 1990 m and 3198 m above sea level(asl) year round, and the mean altitude was 2575.3m asl. Different altitude range changed seasonally. The mean altitude of the monkey’s activity was 2439 m asl in Winter(from December to January), however, the highest mean altitude was 2769 m asl in Summer(from June to August). The distrubition of foods was attributed to this result. During the study period were set up 42 20 m x 20 m vegetation quadrat, 15 samples is sleeping site, 10 samples is especially lunch area, 27 samples is the area of feeding and way, especially including the activities of all the vegetation types and species, winter and spring seasons/petiole/stem bark of availability is the largest, at an average 43% a month, summer and fall leaves, and fruits, the availability of seed, the largest at 64% and 38.7% respectively. Studies have shown that monkeys with the availability of food and choose the home domain using area, especially in different seasons in different altitude zone near the plant samples of activity, especially with the home domain seasonal use of the results are consistent. activity of altitude and climate conditions not relevant. Sichuan golden monkeys(R.roxellana)like to use mixed very much, especially in this habitat types of activity time accounted for 88% of all the observation time, suggesting that food resources is the main reason of the influence of monkeys to habitat preference. The results indicated that the diet composition of R.roxellana included 117 plant species in 35 families. The annual diet consisted of 28.6% mature leaves,25.7% young leaves,19.1% fruits and seeds,11.7% bark/ petiole/stem, 7.7% bud/spend,5.9%lichens, 0.9% fungi, and 0.2% bamboo shoots. Studies have also shown that R.Roxellana food composition has certain seasonal: namely autumn feeding the most plant species, 68 species, mainly feed on the leaves, fruits and seeds. Winter feeding of plant species for at least 40 kinds, main tree bark, petioles and usnea, spring, summer, feeding the plant species of 58 species and 61 respectively. Bud is the main food of R.roxellana spring and summer, and fruit and seed in baihe R.roxellana food occupies an important share in the autumn. In addition, the leaves are the main food resource found the monkeys, annual food composition leaves 54.3%. Diet composition and feeding food availability was a positive correlation(R=0.954, P<0.01), which is similar to most langur adaptation strategies, eating food shortages in winter, they choose more and petiole bark for food, while their intake of food species diversity and there is a corresponding increase in also found that their feeding the 10 families occupied 68.3% of the total, and rosaceae occupied 20.4%,which showed significantly selectivity for food. Thus, all results suggested that feeding behaviors of R.roxellana were significantly influenced by the seasonal variation of diverse foods.
