[Objective]Use the data of People’s Hospital of Guangxi zhuang autonomous region as the source, by using the geographic information system (GIS) technology to excavate and analyse the space attribute of medical data generated by medical and health services, exploring the potential of GIS on hospital data mining and analysis, guiding medical and health services; exploring the application value of spatial data generated by the hospital in epidemiological studies; for further use and development of medical data provides a new angle and thinking, can also provide data support for medical units of future decision.[Methods]From the national basic geographical information system (http://nfgis.nsdi.gov.cn) database accessed 1:100 million Chinese XianJie electronic map, intercepted Guangxi XianJie map. Collected 1990 to March 2011, People’s Hospital inpatients’material information. In the material, patients’subordinate region were all with the unified settings, to meet the requirements of spatial analysis, thus formed various counties patient data database. Linked the patient data database and electronic map through the key fields, formed counties’patient data spatial database. Applied spatial data conversion program FME, spatial data analysis software Maplnfo 10.0 and ArcGIS 9.3 to analyse the spatial database, used spatial data analysis technology of inverse distance weighted interpolation (IDW) technology, maps overlay and spatial autocorrelation analysis to analyse the inpatient data of People’s Hospital during the study period, got all the counties hospital patients person-time distribution, various counties hospital patients ratio interpolation figure, the average cost interpolation figure of counties inpatient and some diseases’distribution of counties, overlaid these basic maps with Guangxi xianjie electronic map, mined and analysed hospital data, extracted useful information.[Results]The results showed that, the patients’spatial distribution of People’s Hospital were uneven, most of the patients came from Nanning, second was the place closed to hospital city areas, spatial autocorrelation statistical analysis showed that the whole domain Moran’s I value was 0.02, Z inspection result was 3.02, P value was less than 0.01,these could get the preliminary results that patient’s spatial distribution was uneven, and there was positive autocorrelation in the inpatient spatial distribution. The whole domain Getis’s G value was 0.09, Z index of test result was 2.10, P value was less than 0.05, clewed that patient source distribution existed spatial high gathering phenomenon.In addition, after further analysis, also got that major disease in counties were inconsistent, and basic results such as every disease burden of patient. Analysis of patient disease, we could find that, there can be highly spatial gathering clusteing in some disease, indicate that there were stable exposure factors. Many index’s comprehensive analysis, can draw on the People’s Hospital medical service level evaluation and analyse the status, this hospital treated patients in large quantities and the source of patients is stable, disease were widely, service radius basic overlay Guangxi, comply with its requirements as a comprehensive provincial three level of first-class hospital.[Conclusion]GIS has very strong spatial data processing function, its spatial analysis technology in the whole territory scales is powerful, its application is strong, can fully and depth excavate, using any data that containe spatial information. Hospital as a medical and health service units, its own work property decides it must fully grasp the patient’s enough information material, control over their own work by each index and the operation of the data. At the same time, for their own constituents construction and rapid development, it requests medical units must make full and detailed control over their own work, and medical data contain all the information, it is a carrier. However, today’s hospital data analysis using depth is shallow and low level, and form is single, most situation is just to finish the report belonges to the superior department of health, killing data for the purpose of waste. GIS technology and hospital data combination utilizing, especially for three level of first-class hospital this large comprehensive hospital, let administrators can more in-depth understand that hospital medical data contain abundant information, master of the dynamic information of hospital patients, clearly display characteristics of patients, evaluation of hospital with ability and its work load, also can provide for the hospital itself with the reliable data support, be helpful for hospital evaluation, also can give clues for future development.
