In the present study, two caprifoliaceae varieties Weigela florida cv. Red Prince and Lonicera japonica were subjected to 5℃(low temperature)、15℃(mid-low temperature)、25℃(control) and 35℃(high temperature stress), the effects of temperature stress on photosynthetic pigments、Fv/Fm、Fv/Fo、MDA content、cell membrane permeability、soluble protein content and protective enzymes in leaves of two plants were studied. In order to research the differences of temperature stressed tolerance and mechanism, inquiry the potential applications, provide a socientific basis and reference for urban green construction, the change of main physiological indicators of two varieties were analysed and compared. The main results of this study are as follows:1. The temperature had no effect on the plant height of Weigela florida cv. Red Prince and Lonicera japonica, but it significantly inhibited the accumulation of plant biomass, and the low temperature inhibition was more obvious. The change rate of Lonicera japonica leaf, stem, root biomass decreased less than the percentage of Weigela florida cv. Red Prince.2. Temperature inhibited the synthesis of Chl and Car, Fv/Fm 、 Fv/Fo declined; temperature stress decreased stomatal opening degree of Lonicera japonica. High temperature promoted the Weigela florida cv. Red Prince stomatal opening degree, but did not reach the significant level compared with the CK.3. The cell membrane permeability, MDA content of Weigela florida cv. Red Prince and Lonicera japonica were significantly reduced under temperature stress, and more sensitive to chilling injury, they had the strongest resistance on mid-low temperature.4. Compared with the CK, the synthesis of soluble protein in Weigela florida cv. Red Prince under 15 ℃increased, have not reached significant level. Soluble protein content in the other treatments of Weigela florida cv. Red Prince and each treatment of Lonicera japonica significantly inhibited, discomfort temperature maybe disturbed metabolism and inhibited protein synthesis.5. Compared with the CK, temperature treatment significantly inhibited the SOD, POD, CAT and APX activity of Weigela florida cv. Red Prince after 14 d treatment, mid-low temperature had no significant effect. Inhibitory effect of temperature on Lonicera japonica is significant.6. Compared to the two kinds of plants, the membrane lipid peroxidation resist of Lonicera japonica in mid-low and high temperature is lower than Weigela florida cv. Red Prince. Under the mid-low temperature can increase the soluble protein accumulation of Weigela florida cv. Red Prince, the activity of antioxidant enzymes in Weigela florida cv. Red Prince play a more positive role in protecting. Combined with photosynthetic index, stomatal parameters and protective enzymes activity of two plant showed that Weigela florida cv. Red Prince had stronger resistance to temperature stress.
