The data of atmospheric electric field on the surface is of one of the important data to the study of thunder cloud structure, atmospheric electric field data can be detected by atmospheric electric field instrument all the time, the charge structure and the electric field characteristics of thunder can be analyzed by studying the observed data, which can provide the reference for the studying of atmospheric electricity. It can contact points in the observation area together and detect the distribution of electric field effectively by combing the atmospheric electric field instrument in networking.In this paper, the basic principle of atmospheric electric field instrument are introduced, including principles of sensor and circuit, atmospheric electric field instrument installation considerations,choice of installation environment, software functions, some problems of processing you may encounter are introduced, the quality of the data is ensured by dealing with some method.In order to reduce the affect of high of instrument and location, an altitude correction method for atmospheric electric field data is proposed, it can correct different structure of thunder in different times,a process of thunder is analyzed by this method combined with radar echo data, it is verified this method can union different data observed by different station, realize the meaning of networking, dealing with the data by Kriging method, can not only union the different observation station, but also enlarge the ability of detecting of atmospheric electric field instrument.A lightning warning analysis method is presented, in which the Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD) method and the difference method is applied to the analysis of atmospheric electric field data, in order to solving the high false alarm rate of the thunderstorm warning by using atmospheric electric field data.The method of EEMD is used to decompose the data of different weather to extract the intrinsic oscillation characteristics of atmospheric electric field, atmospheric electric field under different weather conditions is analyzed on the basis of change law of each component.it is proved that taking forecasting with this method can not only reduce the false alarm rate, but also improve the warning time, by taking large number of experiment combed with spectrum analysis, radar echo.
