The electric field instrument network enhances the function of the atmospheric electric field instrument and expands the monitoring range of the electric field,and improves the lightning warning ability.There is no mature observation network for atmospheric electric field in Nanjing area.In this studywe choose the experimentation area based on the geographical environment,meteorological elements,the nature of the use and the power supply situation in Nanjing and its surrounding areas.Based on the fractal theory,we calculate the position of the suitable atmospheric electric field instrument station.10 atmospheric electric field instruments are arranged in the experimentation area to obtain the observation data of the atmospheric electric field.At the same time,we collected satellite and radar remote sensing and lightning location data in the experimental area.The atmospheric electric field data processing system is combined with the data of atmospheric electric field at that time,and comprehensive analysis is made with radar data and lightning location data.The characteristics of different atmospheric electric fields in sunny days,thunderstorm development and thunderstorm ripening in Nanjing area are analyzed.In view of a thunderstorm that has occurred,we should make an early warning before the time point of lightning occurrence.Aiming at the characteristics of the atmospheric electric field in experimentation area,combined with the existing research results in China,we set up an electric field instrument warning threshold suitable for Nanjing area.The number of early-warning days and the number of early-warning days given by the data of atmospheric electric field network in Nanjing experimental area in 2013 are given.The trend and characteristics of lightning location data are compared and analyzed.Applying the data of atmospheric electric field instrument to the work of lightning disaster risk assessment,the lightning risk assessment process after adding atmospheric electric field data is given.The results show that the atmospheric electric field in Nanjing has different characteristics in different weather conditions.In this study,the early warning of lightning has formed a feasible method,but the time accumulation still needs to be increased;it is pointed out that the atmospheric electric field meter can make lightning early warning in advance 10?30 minutes.The amount of advance in this period allows the service object to take timely measures to avoid casualties and property losses,thereby reducing the risk of lightning risk.
