Human living environment is faced with severe challenges due to increasing occurrence of different types of emergency events like disasters, accidents and assaults, so the emergency management and safeguard mechanism are paid more attention to than before. Emergency map as an effective tool affecting accident situation can be firmly support to decision-making for urgency department, and provide available emergency information for public. However, there are some problems in the production process of emergency map, such as lack of standard symbol system and design solution, too complicated production process, also the emergency and accuracy cannot satisfy current needs. In the mapping field, although template mapping technology is common used, it is seldom directly applied to emergency map production due to incomplete template system. Based on these problems, from the aspects of theory and technology, this paper researches on rapid mapping method of emergency map based on parametric template. The works are as follows:1. The analysis of research status. The research status of emergency map symbol, emergency mapping system, mapping template technology and cartography experiment are reviewed and the existing problems of incomplete theory and the backward technology and methods are analyzed. Then the purpose and meaning is illustrated and the content of this study is demonstrate.2. Theoretical basis of emergency map rapid production.With the overview of the concept, characteristics and functions of emergency map and the classification of the sudden events and emergency map with national standards and specifications, this paper has researched on the presentation content and expression of emergency maps. By analyzing the existing emergency map mapping model such as conventional production mode, GIS based model and Map World based model, this paper has proposed the rapid production model of emergency map based on template and explored the key problem to realize the model.3. Study on the visualization methods of emergency map based on parametric template. The definition of emergency map parameterized template has been proposed and the visualization methods of emergency map has been explored. The map representation selection rules has been summarized from the map data characteristics and the collocation of map representation method and then the rule table has been built. With the reference of domestic and international emergency symbol standard, this paper has built emergency map point symbol table and innovatively designed line symbols for emergency map to perfect emergency map symbol system. And the reaction time experiment has been designed to evaluate the symbols.4. Study of parametric template design for emergency map. With reference to the commonly used organization form of templates, emergency map parameterized template system has been concluded and the design method and principle has been analyzed. Then the paper introduces the design of emergency map parameterized template method and steps and illustrated the key problems in the design of the parametric template of emergency map with the example of earthquake emergency map template design. At last, usability evaluation of emergency map template has been made with eye movement experiment.5. Design and implementation of rapid mapping system of emergency map. "One-key" mapping principle has been analyzed, and the rapid mapping system of emergency map has been designed and finally implemented by programming. Then, with analysis and discussion of the mapping experiment compared with ArcGIS, this paper has proposed the weakness and the improvement direction of the system.6. Summary and outlook. This paper summarized the achievements and innovations, analyzed existing problems and shortcomings, then realized the further research content and focus.
