Since the soil in the tidal flat region is rich in salt, it is not suitable for traditional agriculture. It is probably to plant salt-resistant plants. The plants can beautify the salt-basic environment, protect the seashore, sustain the seashare ecosystem. It can also bring some economic profits. Therefore, the selection, cultivation, multiplication and value-added processing of salt-resistant plants have been popular researches in recent years. Among them, Prunus maritima, Rosa rugosa L. and Ilex glabra have been shown promising in coasted areas of Jiangsu province,China. The purpose of this research project was to establish tissue culture techniques of these three plants to meet the demand of propagation The experiment results are as following:1. Take defoliated tender stem-segments with a single bud of Prunus maritima shoot as experimental material to break out axillary buds for proliferation. The results showed:for the sprouting of stem segment in vitro, the best culture medium formula was MS and MS+6-BA2.5mg/L, with differentiation rate of 80%; the best medium for shoot proliferation of clustered shoots was3/4MS+IBA0.3mg/L, with a multiplication rate of 2.0.2. Take defoliated stem-segments with a single bud of Rosa rugosa L. of one-year seeding as the experimental material to establish the aseptic culture system. The results showed:for in vitro establishment the best culture media formula were:MS+6-BA0.5mg/L and MS+6-BA1.5mg/L; for shoot proliferation, the best media were:MS+6-BA1.5mg/L+IBA0.3mg/L and 3/4MS+IBA0.3mg/L; for in vitro rooting, the best medium was:l/2MS+NAA0.3mg/L, with a rooting rate up to 95%. This system can be used for Rosa rugosa L. rapid propagation.3. Take defoliated stem-segments with a single bud of Ilex glabra shoot as experimental material to breaking out axillary buds, the best culture media formulas were:MS and MS+6-BA1.5mg/L, with a differentiation rate of 66%; for proliferating clustered shoots, the best medium was:3/4MS+IBA0.3mg/L, with a multiplication rate of 3.4.
