Shallow geothermal energy is a new, high-quality, renewable and clean energy, which has the character of energy conservation, emission reduction, wide distribution, huge storage, rapid regeneration, high availability and high security. The assessment study of shallow geothermal energy and its influencing factors is of great significance, to realize the storage and distribution of shallow geothermal energy and get more popularization and application of ground source heat pump technology. The study not only provides decision basis for the relevant government departments, to plan the development of shallow geothermal energy and provide a key reference indicator for regional potential assessment of shallow geothermal energy resource, but also provides reference for the rational design and construction of ground source heat pump, to avoid irrational development and ensure the scientificity, rationality and reliability of shallow geothermal energy development.First of all, the distribution characteristics of shallow geothermal field and its influenced factors were analyzed in this paper, and then comparative study and fitting analysis of the shallow geotemperature monitoring results in Suzhou and Nanjing were presented to explore the distribution and variation laws of shallow geotemperature field. At last the author demonstrated the feasibility for the development of shallow geothermal energy in Jiangsu Province through the shallow geothermal indicators of Jiangsu Province.Secondly,.the author summarized three assessment methods for suitability division of shallow geothermal energy use patterns:analytic hierarchy process, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and key factors method, and analyzed the three methods’advantages and disadvantages. In this paper we established suitability division principles of the vertical pipe heat exchanger system and the groundwater heat exchanger system by the key factors method in Jiangsu Province, and got the suitability division results of the two heat exchangers. And then we selected three typical cities of Suzhou, Huai’an and Nanjing, calculated their static reserves and allowable exploitation of shallow geothermal energy, and estimated the static reserve of the entire Jiangsu Province using analogy method.Finally, through a sensitivity analysis of the factors that affect heat transfer of vertical pipe heat exchanger, the heat transfer simulation model of heat exchanger had been simplified accordingly. And then the paper simulated the heat-affected zone and the geotemperature change of the different geotechnical layers by the simplified model, compared the results with the actual monitoring results, and proposed the heat pipe spacing guidelines.
