Seismic data acquisition and recording system is the most important petroleum geophysical and seismic exploration equipment. Seismic data should go through the lengthy lines during the transmission, which easily lead to errors in the receiver, thus affecting the accuracy of the data analysis.That makes great sense to research the fault-tolerant channel coding technology to improve the Error detection and correction capability of the Seismic data acquisition system.Reed- Solomon code(RS code) is a kind of forward error correction code, which can correct random errors and burst errors, reducing the error rate and improving communication quality to meet the requirements for data transmission reliability. The complexity of RS determine that it has great power consumption, which makes it difficult to apply to the use of battery-powered seismograph. To solve the above problem, a method is proposed for digital seismograph by changing the parameters of the RS coding after studying the RS code encoding and decoding principle. This method has great advantage in computational complexity, latency and power consumption performance compared to traditional methods. ARi BM decoding algorithm is applied to the design In the decoding side. The simulation results show that, the RS(31,27) code can meet the requirements of digital seismic instrument on the transmission reliability in low power consumption condition. The main work of this thesis:1、 Selects the RS code as seismic data acquisition system channel coding after analyzing the factors of RS codec and the others affecting the seismic data detection system of data transmission; 2、 Proposes a RS coding method used in the seismic data transmission. This method effectively reduces the power consumption of RS coding which is more suitable for higher power requirements of seismic data transmission systems; 3、 RS(31,27) codec is implemented based on FPGA platform with Verilog HDL. Experimental results show that the design can meet the seismic data detection system ‘s requirements for high-speed, high reliability and real-time information transfer.
