Polarization state is the important information of polarized light which mainly contains degree of polarization and angle of polarization, and it not only shows special polarization distribution patterns in the atmosphere of earth’s surface, but also can be changed in various scattering media. The application ranges of polarized light are more and more wide in area of modern military, aviation and ocean, such as polarization detection and polarization imaging. So. the investigation of polarization information in various disperse media is important and meaningful.In this dissertation, we mainly introduce the transmission performance of polarization information in various scattering systems based on Stokes vectors and Monte Carlo simulation algorithm. According to the Stokes vectors’ scattering characters of polarized light, we propose polarization retrieve method PR which is aim at reducing the scattering impact on incident polarized light and increasing the transmission efficiency of light signal. In order to prove the availability and practicability of polarization retrieve method, we will do some simulations in actual environment which contain the polarization transmission and reconstruction in layered atmosphere and underwater. The mainly content of this dissertation is organized as follows.(1) We introduce the basic theory of polarization and scattering, and solve the problems of polarized light transmission in scattering systems by Monte Carlo algorithm which is analyzed by combining actual model.(2) We propose polarization retrieve method PR, and make a comparison between PR and traditional PM method. Besides, we also study the multi-spectral characteristics of polarization retrieve in various atmospheric conditions.(3) We analyze the transmission characters of polarized light in inhomogeneous atmosphere based on the 10km layered atmosphere simulation model.(4) We investigate a underwater transmission model of polarized light, and simulate the changes of light’s intensity and degree of polarization with different polarization state under the sea. In order to increase the accuracy of scattered LDoP, we utilize the PR method. At last, we change the medium length l of derived Mueller Matrix and transmission length L of incident light to investigate the correlation between l and L, which may has impact on the accuracy of polarization retrieve.
