Affected by global climate change, disastrous weather frequently occurs.Geological disasters have become a prominent issue of China’s hydraulic and hydropower construction. Outstanding performance for geological disasters includecollapses, landslides, debris flows and unstable slopes in hydraulic and hydropower project.Frequent occurrence of these geological disasters, cause huge losses to lifeand property. Therefore, exploration and evaluation of geological disasters is of great significance to our country’s hydraulicand hydropowerconstruction.Pillow Dam level 1 hydropower station is the second, large scale projects(2) type projects, with 720 MW of power plant installed capacity. According to the Ministry of Land and Resources,the grading standardsof "technical requirements of geological disasters risk assessment on Land for Construction"(Trial implementation), it is determined that the level of Pillow Dam geological disaster risk assessment is the first one. In view of this, the geological disasters in construction area, reservoir inundation area of Pillow Dam Project for the study, on the basis of the field survey and existing geological data,the detailed analytical information relatedtoconstructionlandDaduRiver Hydropowergeological risk assessment,that assessed and analysed the geological environment background and geological hazard types, scale,dangerous objects and the risk size of the reservoir area,hub project area,quarry area, debris field area, the court highway area, production and living areas of construction camps.First, the present status of geological disaster risk inPillow Dam Hydropower Station is evaluatedby defining the assessmenscopeand the assessment level, by establishingAHP model for geological hazard risk evaluation.Using indicators of density of geological disasters, physiognomy, stratum and lithology, meteorological conditions and human engineering activities,and establishing hierarchy structure table of geological disaster prone degree,and calculating R values of geological hazard,this paper can judge the danger degree of geological disaster.Second,based on change of geological environmental conditions by construction activities in the project impact area, this paper focuses on natural steady state of old bad geological body,resurrection instability,and new geological hazard because of construction activities,such as the slope of the landslide, collapse and reservoir bank collapse.Accordingly,this paper can forecast and evaluate the geological risk by stereogram,geological hazard assessment section andfield investigation.The geological risk evaluation indicators include Geological Hazard Type, Damage Object and Damage Degree.Finally, the countermeasures are given for prevention and control of geological disaster. This paper mainly states kinds of countermeasures including the guiding ideology, engineering measures and biological measures, agents of benefits, the prevention and control measures of the typical geological disasters and the whole project.This paper focused on assessing the influencing reach of Dadu river Pillow Dam hydropower project. The geological hazard in assessment region are landslides and unstable slopes, unstable rock collapse, etc., to ensure the personal safety of buildings and to maintain social stability and promoteeconomic development is of great significance.
