Because of the long time and Large-scale mining, the geological environment of Pingdingshan Mountain and its surrounding area is seriously damaged, and urgently protected. Taking theory of the environmental geology, the disasters geology, and engineering geology as a guide, GPS and computer technology to investigate geological hazards. Based on《Technical requirements of geological hazard assessment》, an evaluation-index system of geological hazards is built. The Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method is introduced to assess the risk of the landslides, and come to the conclusion synthetic that the danger grade of Landslide Hazards in the studying area is middle, to the actual survey results.Comprehensive assessment show: Geological disasters in North-Chaohu City are in from of a middle seriousness. The mobile slopes of Majiashan and 133 Heights near the fault probably lead up to collapse, landslides, and other geological disasters. The possibility and danger of geological disasters caused by the mine waste rock yard in the studying area is subject to medium. There is a region of 0.11 square kilometers which high risk geological disasters in this area. So protection measures should be taken to prevent the occurrence of geological disasters.
