Hydrometeorology condition is one of the basic environment conditions ofcoal-fired power plants. It is also the important basis for designing buildings, choosing electromechanical equipment, and determining the design parameters ofcoal-fired power plant. For example, meteorological condition, such as, predominantwind direction is the key factor of power plants to design the general layout. Thedesign flood determines the zero-mark and flood protection. The design wind pressureconcerns design load and operation safety of power plant buildings. There are two kinds of statistical analysis methods for hydrometeorology inpower engineering, one is basic methods of the extremeⅠtype distribution and P-IIItype curve, etc. The other is the experience formula methods of the SSDI method andLinpingyi method. Moreover, there are some experimental methods suitable for thelocal area in some provinces and regions, such as the experimental formula fordam-break flood of “Liaoning Hydrology Bureau” and experimental formula foroverlandflow of Jilin Province.Hydrometeorology statistical analysis that coal-fired power plant refers tousually carries out hydrometeorology survey by collecting basic data, carrying outhydrometeorology survey, and analyzing the rationality through two or more methodscombining with engineering cases. Finally, the hydrometeorology results that meet thepower plant design can be obtained. For the areas where doesn’t have dates, the dateof hydrometeorology condition can be obtained as the follows: the region empiricalformula, the relevant comparison of basin, or setting up casual hydrologic stations andmeteorological stations to obtain short-term observation data according to each one ofprovincial hydrological manual. Then, the reference station can be selected to carryout correlation analysis in order to correct and interpolate hydrometeorology data.In this paper, the analysis and calculation of engineering hydrometeorology iscarried out systematically for Debosi Power Plant in Inner Mongolia AutonomousRegion. Combining with long-term hydrometeorology observation data, the empirical formula including P-Ⅲ model and Gumbel model, etc. are used to analyze theengineering hydrometeorology and calculate the flood frequency after examine oftruth, rationality and continuity, calculating flood frequency and analyzingengineering meteorological The rationality of calculated results as well as feasibilityof engineering construction are then studied.
