As an important component of constructing a resource-saving and environment-friendlysociety, the conservation-oriented garden is the development orientation of garden in the future. As the unique life entity of the landscape, plant community occupies an important position in thegarden’s landscape engineering. Optimized mode construction of plant community cannot onlycreate ecological and harmonious living environment for people, but also be helpful to developconservation-oriented society at the same time. The main research results of this paper are asfollows:This research mainly takes Ningbo in the coastal of Eastern China and Luzhou in the inlandof Southwestern China as representative. These two places belong to central subtropical area, with distinctive features. It selects Moon-lake Park, Yinzhou Park, Day-lake Park and YaojiangPark of Ningbo and Zhongshan Park, Binjiang Park and Longtouguan Park of Luzhou as thesurvey region, investigates and analyzes species composition, importance value of tree species, coenotype and species diversity of60typical plant communities. Results indicate that, among30sample plots investigated in Ningbo, there are126kinds of seed plants, subordinated to55Family and97Genus; among30sample plots investigated in Luzhou, there are136kinds ofseed plants, subordinated to62Family and110Genus. Species composition is dominated byindigenous plant. Plant species of high importance values only occupy a small proportion. Itmeans both places have single and poor plant species. Coenotype is often dominated byevergreen and deciduous broad-leaved mixed forest, with simple layer of community structure.Through the investigation, it establishes a reasonable evaluation system and selects12evaluation factors to make a comprehensive evaluation of60typical plant communities byadopting the Analytic hierarchy Process (AHP), from three perspectives of ecology, landscapeand conservation. According to the evaluation results,60plant communities of Ningbo andLuzhou mainly concentrate on the2ndhierarchy. There are rare communities on the1sthierarchy.It means there are just few high-quality characteristic communities in parks of these two citiesand there is still large space for improving conservation-oriented urban park’s green land’s plantcommunities. Among the1sthierarchy plant communities, it chooses6typical communities of different types as the reference template and makes a detailed analysis.Based on the above investigation and evaluation results, targeted at the problems existing incentral subtropical conservation-oriented urban park green land, it points out that: in the aspectof plant selection, it should mainly be based on local and water-saving plants, and strengthen thedevelopment of seeding industry; in the aspect of community design, it should simulatecharacteristics of local plant communities; in the aspect of planting technology, it shouldconsider the spacing and planting season of seedlings and in the aspect of maintenancemanagement, it should vigorously develop economical plant landscape and realize cyclicutilization of landscaping garbage. Meanwhile, it summarizes and refines the optimizedallocation mode of land-saving plant community, water-saving plant community andmaterial-saving plant community, which offers scientific basis and technical support for plantcommunities of conservation-oriented urban garden’s green land in central subtropical areas.
