Crustal deformation network center of China Seismological Bureau manages allthe tilt strain stations across the country. With the rapid growth of the amount of dataand aggregation of digitization station observation data, lots of strain tilt observationdata products are produced. Sharing the base station product information andobservation data and providing authoritative data products and services for thescientific researchers and earthquake monitoring and prediction staff, has become anurgent problem.Firstly, this paper describes the key technologies of developing Web applications.JSP (Java Server Pages) is a dynamic website technology company based on JavaServlet and the entire Java developing system by Sun Microsystems. Due to itsachievement in separation from dynamic pages and static pages, which frees theshackles of the hardware platform and improve the efficiency of execution, JSPbecomes the mainstream tools in dynamic web development. Inheriting thefeature-write once&available anywhere of Java language, JSP can be run on mostoperating system platforms and Web servers. JSP supports multi-tier architecture, which can be decomposed into the presentation layer, control layer, application logiclayer and persistence layer, and is a good solution to build large sites. JavaBean, essentially a Java class, is a reusable component technology. And for its encapsulatingproperties and methods, JSP becomes an independent and reusable component objectthat can communicate with other control objects. Servlet is a kind of server-side Javaapplications that is independent from platform and protocol, and is also anintermediate layer connecting the database application requests and server-sidebrowser client on the HTTP server program. By using JSP technologies, JavaBeantechnology and Servlet technologies, this paper develops a web application of highlyscalablity, reusability and portability. Then this article goes on to analyze the demand for the service platform, including functional analysis, performance analysis and feasibility analysis, anddesigns and divides the service the platform function blocks in details. Users can viewbase station information, data products and seismic station emergency productsthrough the service platform, and can download raw observation data of the stationsfor research. Finally, based on the function and performance requirements, the serviceplatform is built with overall architecture for the B/S framework, using JSP technology,JavaBean technology and Servlet technology. At last, the site testing techniques are briefly described. Website testing is muchmore complex than the usual software testing, in addition to testing wether the sitefunction meets the design, how fast the web pages is loaded the security of thewebsite needs to be tested in the changing network environment.
