As is known to all. the sea area is far greater than the area of land on earth. Ocean is full of mystery. In order to better understand the ocean, people divide the ocean into coarse structure (> 100 m) fine structure (1~100 m) and the microstructure (less than 1 m) depending on the scale structure. The ocean contains a great energy and the energy transfers between different scales in the ocean. The energy transfers from large scale, through the mesoscale, to the small scale. Energy dissipates in the form of turbulent mixing. Turbulent mixing has important effect on the ecological environment of the earth. With growing concerns about global climate change, scientists pay more and more attention to turbulent mixing. Ocean internal turbulence mixing has become a very important research field in physical oceanography.With the deepening of the theoretical research of ocean turbulence observation, there is an urgent need to get enough ocean turbulence mixed observation data. In this paper, based on the principle of turbulence observation, through the selection of turbulent shear sensor and design of acceleration sensor, moored and fixed-point turbulent ocean microstructure observation platform is designed and is used for turbulence observation. Through laboratory test and sea trial, the instrument and platform meet the design requirements.In this paper, the design mainly includes the ocean mixing fixed-point observation unit and moored fixed-point subsurface buoy. Ocean mixing fixed-point observation unit mainly includes mixed measuring instrument, stents, streamlined floating body, hoisting mechanism and the tail. Mixed measuring instrument is the core of the turbulence observation. According to project target, the compression depth can reach at least 800m. Mixed measurement instrument design includes hardware circuit design and the design of control software. Perfect test experiment proves the stability and reliability of the mixed measuring instrument. In addition, wind tunnel test verify the noise level of the instrument.Moored fixed-point subsurface buoy can meet the ocean mixed fixed-point observation unit’s demand for continuous, long-term turbulence observation of deep-sea. This paper introduces some important topics about the design and application of marine submersible buoy system.After the design of moored and fixed-point turbulent ocean microstructure observation platform, platform was tested in the South China Sea. Test instrument got a lot of turbulence data. Through the data statistics and analysis, verify the validity of the design. This test provides effective reference for further research and development.
