West Lake and Xixi Wetland are the important urban landscape wetland ecosystems in Hangzhou, South China, and famous for its beautiful landscape and special humanities. This article based on the studying obeject of zooplankton community and according to the water pollution status, carrying out the investigation on the annual variation of environment factors, community diversity and structure of zooplankton during June 2013 to May 2014. A total of 106 zooplankton species were identified, comprising 39 rotifers, 16 cladoceras, 19 copepods in West Lake, and 57 rotifers, 19 cladoceras and 16 copepods in Xixi Wetland. The Rotifera, Cladoceras, Copepoda abandance in annual mean value were 57.71ind/l, 6.83ind/l, 0.72ind/l in West Lake and 62.26ind/l, 11.29ind/l, 1.97ind/l in Xixi Wetland. The results showed Rotifer was the biggest contributor to community in West Lake(52.7%) and Xixi Wetland(62%), and the common dominant species were Polyarthra trigla、Alona rectangula、Bosmina longirostris 、Moina micrura 、Diaphanosoma brachyurum. Species diversity indices comparison result revealed that Margalef(d) 2.5 in West Lake < 3.1 in Xixi Wetland, Shannon-Wiener(H’) 2.7 in West Lake < 3.3 in Xixi Wetland, Pielou(J’) 0.75 in West Lake < 0.84 in Xixi Wetland. Physico-chemical facrors comparison result displayed the water status was eutrophication level, the annual mean value of p H, COD, TN were higher in West Lake. The cluster analysis showed community structure and environment variables had significant difference between two areas(R=0.983, P<0.05), BIOENV analyses revealed that the temporal variation in zooplankton communities were significantly correlated with the abiotic factors, especially TP, TN, NH4-N, NO3-N. From the above, it is indicating that the condition of water quality in Xixi Wetland was slightly better than West Lake.
