Zooplankton Community Structure And Water Quality Analysis Of Taiping Lake In Anhui Province

Taiping Lake is the largest lake-type reservoir in Anhui province. It is known for its beautiful scenery and attracts many tourists. In 2014, this lake was listed in the 15 focus on protecting national lakes. Due to the lack of biological background data, we investigated and studied the zooplankton and the physical-chemical indexes of this reservoir for 10 times from November 2012 to October 2014, so as to enrich its biological basis data and provide scientific basis for the protection and utilization of the lake’s resources.The main results of this investigation are as follows:The depth 、transparency、dissolved oxygen、percentage of dissolved oxygen and chlorophyll a in Taiping Lake appeared marked spatiotemporal change. And the water temperature had obviously seasonal change, but its horizontal change is modest.Detection in this survey, we identified 96 species of zooplankton which were subordinate to 45 genera, including 9 kinds of protozoa、74 kinds of rotifers、8 kinds of cladocerans and 5 kinds of copepods. Besides, there were 32 species judged to be dominant species(Y≥0.02), including 4 kinds of protozoa、23 kinds of rotifers、2 kinds of cladocerans and 3 kinds of copepods.The average abundance and biomass of zooplankton in Taiping Lake were 672±764ind./L and 1.707±1.683mg/L. The zooplankton’s abundance had obviously spatiotemporal change, and the amplitude of variation was large and regular. However, biomass changed modestly without obvious seasonal rule.The annual means of Shannon-Wiener index、Margalef index and Pielou index of zooplankton in Taiping Lake were 1.675±0.651、2.152±0.717 ' 0.634±0.195. Overall, the seasonal variation trend of the three indexes is basically consistent, the numerical values in the summer and fall were higher than the spring and winter’s, and the trends of their horizontal change were different.In Taiping Lake, the number of zooplankton species is significantly related to the water temperature, and the correlation with dissolved oxygen was greater than chlorophyll a、transparency and percentage of dissolved oxygen; the number of dominant species of the zooplankton were significantly related to chlorophyll a、transparency 、dissolved oxygen and water temperature. Zooplankton’s abundance was greatly influenced by water temperature and less affected by the other environmental factors; zooplankton’s biomass was positively related to transparency and less related to the water temperature. According to the cluster analysis, the zooplankton communities and water quality in H2 and H3 were similar, and the other 3 points were similar.According to the evaluation results of physical-chemical indicators and zooplankton biological indicators, we could find that Taiping Lake was in poverty-moderately eutrophication level and its pollution level was oilgosaprobic-moderate pollution level. Besides, from upstream to downstream, the lake’s water quality turned for the better, from the point of time, the water quality was changing in a good trend. In time, it’s water quality changed to be better.
