Vocalization Characteristics Analysis Of Yellow-bellied Prinia (Prinia Flaviventris) On Breeding Season

The vocalization of bird is a kind of important signal to same bird kind identification, and one of the driving forces for species differentiation. Yellow-bellied Prinia, Prinia flaviventris, and Plain Prinia, Prinia inornata, are relatives of the types of sympatric distribution, both in morphology and reproductive behavior is very similar to that of chirp is difference is obvious, in order to analyze two Plains’ breeding season chirp features and contrast the differences between the two? Therefore, we recorded and analyzed Yellow-bellied Prinia’s vocalization during June in 2013 and June in 2014 in Yazhuitou Wetland park of Guangzhou University Town, based on the study of the Plain Prinia’s vocalization. By means of Yellow-bellied Prinia’s individual on-site observation, sound recording and playback to carry on the research, then making use of Avisoft-SASLab Pro version 5.2 Software Sound Snalysis software to analyze datas collected on the experiment. The results show that Yellow-bellied Prinia’s vocalization have twelve types of functional, including ten kinds of call types and six kinds of song types. These vocalization types consists of thirty-seven kinds of quantity of notes, but different types of vocalization in syllable structure, constitution, frequency and the length of time exist outstanding differences (P< 0.05). Yellow-bellied Prinia has four call types of obviously the harmonic, including Contacting call, Thrilling call, Call for searching partner, Courtship call. Other types of singing harmonics are not obvious. Totally, six kinds of song sentence pattern include four kinds of Repelling songswhich has the most commonly used is Repelling song of sentence pattern j, and two kinds of Territorial songs, Territorial song sentence pattern o is the most common sentence. The quantity of notes number is between 6 to 17.The Territorial song o and sentences pattern are likely to be different, between different individuals and the same individual at different times.In the study of inter-individual chirp differences, found that between Repelling song j and Territorial song o are significantly different. This can distinguish the individuals. Not only Repelling song j less appearing probability than Territorial song in the breeding season, but also the Territorial song sentence pattern is include not only one kinds of sentence in con-specifics. Therefore, if we want to use Territorial song to identify the individuals, we need further analysis of the features that all sentence pattern have within the individuals. In order to further validate whether it be used to identify the individuals. The Playback experiments show that Territorial song has no particular preference in use, but others such as Repelling song, Warning call, and Contacting call all have particular preference. Indicating that Territorial song may include the function of Contacting call, Warning call and Repelling song Courtship call, however, others only have a certain function.In spontaneous singing and sing during playback experiments, individuals had more quantity of notes and more slowly in the same individual of sing during playback sentences than spontaneous singing sentences. It led to the opposite results that element numbers with the rate had a significant negative correlation and the strength of Territorial song related to quantity of notes in after singing, The quantity of notes are more shows the stronger territorial behavior, but lead to a decline in individual song of speed, and may be had a reach some kinds of balance. Only the four individuals appeared on Territorial song p, which shows that Territorial song p may be caused by the variation of some birds call.The song sentences consists of less quantity of notes at the playback than the first time, but after the first using the more quantity of notes in song adaptability experiment. When Yellow-bellied Prinias have on Territorial song with the continuous interference surroundings for long time, suddenly sing short sentences that from 1 to 2 and fewer quantity of notes, or directly replace with only three syllables of Repelling song j, even stop singing directly, to relieve muscle fatigue and reduce the energy expenditure of singing for long time.By comparing two Perina’s songs we found that the composition of singing in sympatric distribution of birds has significant differences. Plain Prinia’s songs make up by only eight kinds of quantity of notes and have six kinds of vocalization sentence, it shows that Yellow-bellied Prinia vocalization is more complicated and varied than Plain Prinia, of course the kinds of song types and functions are alsodifferent. Therefore, we concluded the birds vocalization is not may be necessarily decisive relationship with tails Inverse change appears, but leads to speciation.
