Geoid refine is geodetic and geophysical research fields, such as the important content, is also a very important basic surveying and mapping projects. Now determine the high precision local geoid is a focus of the research by surveying, but in recent years slow to answer. Through a lot of investigation and study, using GPS positioning technology, leveling technology, and modern theory and method of determining the gravitational field, establish a high precision, high resolution regional geoid, for today’s science theory as well as production has high value in engineering application. In this study, listed the essence of geoid of relevant basic knowledge of various kinds of methods.Successively introduced including objective and significance of geoid refinement, The important role of geoid refinement in surveying and mapping work, GPS/leveling method determining geoid, global gravity field model is used to determine the methods of geoid, discusses several kinds of fitting and interpolation model and regional GPS/leveling fitting height anomaly value method and case analysis, and summarized by GPS/leveling data to establish the geoid models applicable conditions and terrain condition;Introduced by combining GPS/leveling and gravity data, as well as EGM2008global gravity field model to determine the method of like geoid;And later in the chapter mainly introduces the use of EGM2008global gravity field model combining GPS leveling points to determine EGM2008global gravity field model in the city of kunming the applicability of the different areas of the situation and can achieve the precision of the research, by using the polynomial surface fitting and the polyhedral function fitting method of GPS leveling point and EGM2008global gravity field model to determine the abnormal height of residual error of fitting, the fitting results for analysis, this article’s conclusion.
