Especially, under the influence of wenchuan5.12earthquake, the number of localgeological disaster of LueYang increased significantly. The unstable inclined (side) slopebecome a hidden danger that threatening people’s normal life/lives/property of the broadmasses. Xiangshan unstable slope is consist of an old landslide slope and its potential on theeast side of unstable slope collapse of the body. Combined with concentrated in7~9monthprecipitation law, more heavy rain, the unstable inclined (side) slope stability is very bad. Soin order to better safeguard people’s life, property safety and smooth slope before the309national highway. The stability analysis of xiangshan unstable slope is good for the preventionand treatment and early warning forecast has the vital significance and reference value.Taking xiangshan unstable slope as the research object, based on the survey data andlocal data, analsing xiangshan unstable slope deformation failure mechanism from the reasonboth of the internal conditions and external factor which make the slope slide for morein-depth analysis and research, calculation and analysis of the stability of slope.The unstable slope which made up of old landslide, for its characteristics of the slopebody, from the material conditions of slope internal condition, structure condition, slope shapeand trigger factors such as earthquake, rainfall and human engineering activities for the oldlandslide sliding mechanism is analyzed. Long rain or heavy rain is its sliding main triggerfactor. With trailing edge slope loading is given priority to, the front under the force oftraction for second, the old landslide along the rock interface slip form a medium-sizedaccumulation landslides. Using limit equilibrium method and finite element method forunstable slope stability analysis, the results show that the unstable slope in natural state, as awhole is in stable state, but in the natural state of slope is in not stable to unstable state, can’treach a steady state.Xiangshan excavation of the unstable slope is mainly due to human activities form thehigh and steep slope, the slope stress redistribution, the slope height, slope Angle and theinfluence of joints and fissures in the slope toe form shear stress concentration. The wholeslope under the effect of gravity stress and unloading, the unloading cranny along both cuttingrock joints and fissures development. For the unstable slope plane projection method anddiscrete element method simulation analysis. The result shows that the slope instability mayhappen to the southwest of collapse, collapse failure mode is mainly for the slippage, localmay be disconnected and dumping the collapse. By xiangshan instability mechanism of slope deformation and stability analysis, studieshave shown that there exist unstable slope safety hidden trouble, can not meet the safetyrequirements, the slope toe residents and threaten the lives and property of the people passingby.
