Landslide is one of the three major geological disasters. The occurrence of landslides threatens people's lives and brings huge losses to people's property.Landslides are affected by various human factors and natural environmental factors. Therefore, the stability analysis of landslides has become one of the most difficult issues that the engineering community needs to solve.Based on the full investigation of the previous research, this paper relies on the public rental housing construction project of Konggang New City in Chongqing Yubei District, and uses the theoretical analysis and GEOSOPE software to strengthen the stability of the downslope under different working conditions. The main research contents and results are as follows:(1)By analyzing the condition in the study area, this paper identifies and determines the climatic conditions, topography, stratum lithology, geological structure, earthquake, hydrogeology and other conditions that affect the stability of the slope, and analyzes and evaluates the landslide formation mechanism and its stability. The exploration report demonstrated the physical and mechanical parameters of the rock and soil, which provided the necessary calculation parameters for the subsequent landslide stability analysis.(2)The study found that the original topography is a natural slope, the surface is covered with silty clay silt, the underlying bedrock body has good integrity. And the rock body soil interface has sliding conditions, with the vertical four-line excavation area on the leading edge of the landslide. The surface water body infiltrates to the bedrock surface or the silty clay layer of the mudstone weathering layer, softening the slip zone soil;the regional groundwater occurrence is very small,so the influence of groundwater seepage can be neglected in the stability analysis process.By analyzing the characteristics of engineering landslides, the main sliding influence parameters of slopes are screened out.The Slope/w analysis module(Janbu method,Morgenstern-Price method)in GEOSOPE is used in addition to the implicit solution of the transferring coefficient method. The slope stability is calculated. The variation is consistent with the actual slope deformation characteristics, indicating that both calculation methods have the strong reliability considering stability analysis.(3)After GEOSLOPE modeling calculation and the calculation of transferring coefficient method with implicit solution, the slope stability is quantitatively evaluated. The result shows that the slopes of I and II areas are in a stable state before road construction, and the road excavation greatly impact the stability of the slope, which significantly reduces the safety factor of the slope;although the area is less affected by groundwater migration, the strength of the soil structure is significantly reduced under conditions of heavy rainfall(storm),causing the slope to deform.
