Inner Mongolia is landing across Sino-Korean plate and Siberian plate with long developing history. The nature history of billion years has raised plentiful nature resources, with the various geological heritage and beautiful landscape, which provides a good platform for studying the geological heritage.The structural geological heritage is the most various geological heritages, which determines its importance in existing conditions and varieties. It is the typical example to reflect the earth history with high value of scientific study, science education and tourism. Through the study and summary of the structural geology and its variety, this thesis is investigating the structural geological heritage to classify it. Based on the structural background, forming types, simplicity and independency, the structural geological heritage can be divided into six categories in levelⅠ, which are global structure, regional structure, large-scale structure, middle-scale structure, small-scale structure and micro-scale structure. And seventeen categories in levelⅡ, and fifty-eight categories in levelⅢ. And some other specific types or structural symbol.According to the literatures, the thesis summarizes the geological developing history and the basic geological structural characteristics of Inner Mongolia, and classifies many structural geological heritages based on the classified system I build up, recognizing the geological characteristics and scientific value of the Xilamulun deep fault, Daxinganling structural belt, Yinshan structural belt, Helanshan structural belt. Because the protection zone for the structural geological heritage has not been built up in all the geoparks of Inner Mongolia and there are only few of scenic spots built up for the structural geological heritage, it is urgent to develop the protection for the structural geological heritage. For the structural geological heritage with important scientific value, we should observe and study the area, record the structural geological heritage in different scales and forming conditions, which will provide the data for the evaluation for them. We also should develop conservation zone for efficiently protecting the important outcrop of structural geological heritage, which could reach the demand of the future scientific work and study. We can rationally develop the structural geological heritage with the values of both science and art to satisfy the needs of science education and tourism.It is a new attempt for this thesis to classify the structural geological heritage. It is providing the new thought for re-understanding the variety of geology and the characteristics of the local geological heritage. Also, it is important both in the aspects of theory and practice for the future study of protection of local geological heritage and the construction of geological park.
