Geopark is famous for its special geological significance, rare natural attributes and high aesthetic value, which has being developed quite rapidly in recent years. In spite of the traditional construction of geopark, the informational construction of geopark has been put on the agenda as well.There are abundant geological remains, paleontological fossils and various precious first-hand information in Ningcheng National Geopark, which is of great value for the research and development. While GIS application is very mature in foreign countries’Geopark construction, the GIS construction of geoparks in China is still in its infancy. This thesis has compared the development and status of GIS at home and abroad and combined the construction of geological relics information management system in Ningcheng National Geopark, proposing solutions and implementation process to establish a single information management system.This thesis describes the concept, methods and other backgrounds of GIS, based on reading a lot of references, putting forward solutions to geological remains database management system combined with ARCGIS Engine, .NET language and C#. It introduces the construction principle and process, general framework of the system and other basic information of database, establishing and testing the geological relics information management system with functions such as map enquiry and maintenance management.The newly established system is nice and convenient, which is suitable for professional and common users. The system also has good scalability, independence and mobility, which basically can satisfy the needs of geopark management and provide technical support for the future development of geopark. Finally, this thesis analyzes the defects of the system and proposes direction of further development and improvement.
